As a general rule, mulch should be applied at a depth of 2-3 inches. This does not mean that you need to put down two to three inches of new mulch every year. When too much mulch is applied it prevents air and water from reaching the soil. This is detrimental for the health of your plants. The amount of mulch that is right for your property will vary depending on your current depth of mulch in your plant beds. Use less mulch for heavy, clay soils and more for lighter, sandy soils.

How far in advance should I schedule my delivery?
We can usually accommodate deliveries scheduled at least one day in advance.
Does mulch prevent weeds?
No. Mulch is used as a means to suppress weeds not prevent them. It will enhance your landscape. And when properly installed helps absorb moisture, prevent erosion of soil, and improve the organic content of the soil in your plant beds.
Why does my mulch look “bleached out”?
Overtime, mulch will start to break down and release nutrients back into the soil. With this mulch can lose its original deep color. simply rake or use a “garden weasel” to reveal the under layer.
